Wow, another year has flown by. You have grown so much since turning six last summer: emotionally and physically. This year was definitely not your easiest year, but you persevered. Unfortunately, you did not have the best teacher this school year. She took some of your sparkle away, and infuriated your parents and grandparents more than once. I'm glad to say that now, 2 months removed from first grade, you have gotten it back. I'm proud of you for pushing through and doing so well in first grade and I'm so happy that second grade will be a fresh start for you. Even though you had a crappy teacher you still excelled in school and really took off with your reading, writing and math skills. You are very smart and so inquisitive, always wanting to know facts and understand how things work and why. Your favorite topics are: Paris, Egypt and New York. You have so many facts in your head and are so interested in learning new ones. You ask the best questions and have one of the best memories! You have learned this last year how to stand up for yourself better and how to calm your temper and handle anxiety better. It's a work in progress, for me too sweet girl.
This last year you continued to be a fantastic big sister to both Emma and Polly. You girls made lots of memories together and watching you three together is the best part of my day, every day. Thanks for all of the love you have given to them and to me. I love our special time together when we read, or just snuggle and chat. As I watch you slowly grow into a young lady I am grateful for the moments when you let me treat you like my baby girl, because that you will always be. I love your independence and how you can play alone for ours and I also love how you ask for me to tuck you in and kiss you goodnight before you snuggle Bunny and drift off to sleep. My big girl, my sweet baby. Love you lots. Happy 7th birthday and thanks again for the gift of being your mom for the past 7 years.
