Pranks
The girls have been having fun playing pranks on Chris. He actually ate an Oreo that had toothpaste instead of the white sugary filling!!!! Yuck! So, he decided to get revenge and made the girls some"special" cake pops. They were salty and spicy and totally disgusting, but he did such a great job creating them that both girls fell for it! Nice work, Chris!

More Trauma- Emma's First Broken Bone!
The evening of the second day of school (one day after Polly's stitches, and a B shift of course), Emma had an indoor soccer game. One minute into the game Emma took a bad fall and immediately grabbed her left wrist. I knew she was hurt, but I had no idea how bad. Her coach ran onto the field and motioned for me when he got her to the sidelines. She was writhing around and would not let go of her left arm. Coach Abdol told me he thought she had broken it. I couldn't believe it! He told me I should take her and get an x-ray to make sure. Emma never cried but she was very uncomfortable and asking for ice. When she continued to hurt and Coach Abdol described how she fell I knew I needed to take her in. Thankfully, Gran and Pawpaw were at the game and they helped me load up and took Ryan with them. Polly had to stay with me because she needed a car seat. I called Grandpa and he met us at my hospital. Pa took Polly home and I stayed with Emma. They took an x-ray and confirmed a buckle fracture to her left radius. The ER doctor splinted her and Dr. Pond came by and talked to us about getting a cast. Emma was brave the entire time and got excited about getting a cast that people can sign. She was most relieved that Dr. Pond said she can still play soccer as long as she bubble wraps her cast!
Polly's Third ER visit, 2nd stitches
Well, first day of school for the big girls went great. We dropped them off and they were all smiles. Chris and I decided to go to the library for coffee and to visit with some other parents. I was standing sipping on my coffee and Polly had found her twin best friends from preschool so they were running around. Chris sat down at a table to visit with the twins dad. Next thin I knew I hurt a blood curdling scream and realized it was Polly. Chris hadn't realized she was hanging on the back of his chair and he stood up and the chair fell back onto her and split her head open. It was a bloody mess! They ran her into the nurses office and applied pressure, but Chris knew it needed stitches. Poor little girl had to go to Cook's and get 8 stitches. She is a trooper!

Ivie Family Takes on Cancun 2018!
We decided to take the girls to Mexico this summer! Ryan had an expired passport from her trip to the Bahamas at 9 months old, and Emma and Polly had never left the country. So, when we decided to skip the Florida trip and go to Cancun instead we got all 3 of them new passports. That was an ordeal! It took 3 trips to get them all done. We did Ryan and Polly's in one visit, but had a copy of Emma's birth certificate instead of the original, and the second time we failed to bring Emma! What a headache! But, we got it all done in time and we looked forward to our family trip all summer. We invited Mom and Dad and they were able to come for part of the time. They arrived a few days before us. Unfortunately our flight got delayed and then cancelled and we ended up arriving later in the day than planned after I had to book us 5 one way tickets on American. Once we arrived we had no problems and it ended up being a fantastic 5 days together and the girls can't wait to go back. They definitely knew how to live it up in the all inclusive setting. This resort had excellent food and the pool with slide and cliff jump were the highlights. We will definitely be going back to Mexico next summer!
