Hooray for Valentines Day!
<3
It did not feel like Valentines Day today. Today was the longest day ever! Chris was working a standby for a guy so I was on "the back half of a 48" with the girls alone. I slept horribly last night because I managed to get the girls cold and had a nagging cough and scratchy throat. Ryan woke up at 5:30 a.m. crying and coughing. She ended up going back to sleep at 6:30, but I was up for the day. Then, when Emma got up at 8 she had thick, green snot dried to her face and running down to her chin. As I had feared the colds had turned into infections. So, I called the pediatrician and got the girls in. Emma had a right ear infection and Ryan a left. Poor girls! The rest of the morning and early afternoon was a mixture of meltdowns and naps (Ryan took a four hour nap- thank goodness, saved both of us!) I needed to run 5 miles to stick with my half marathon training program so I loaded the girls up to head to the gym, with promises of park and Happy Meals. They were troopers and let me get my run (break) in and we had a nice time having a Happy Meal picnic at the park. We stopped by to check on Mamaw on our way home. She had wrist surgery this morning and we had to make sure she was okay. Ryan was very concerned about Mamaw's new booboo. Mom looked good and she has an excellent nurse taking care of her (Pa!). Now, the girls are in bed and I am relaxing on the couch. Missing Chris. We are headed to Fredericksburg Friday for a weekend away. We will celebrate Valentines then. We will also celebrate the purchase of our new home! We sold our house last week and our contract got accepted on our new house today! We are so excited. Chris was very specific about what our next house would be. We plan to stay in this house until the girls are grown. We didn't want to settle on anything that didn't meet our criteria. Thankfully, we didn't have to! Chris found out from a fireman buddy about a house that was going on the market soon. Chris, being so resourceful, hunted down the soon to be realtor and arranged for us to see the house. It was empty and in the middle of being painted, but we loved it. (I think God made this happen for sure!) It met all the major criteria: 76013 zip code, BEST schools, one story, established neighborhood, great trees, 4 good sized bedrooms. It is also on the canals! A nice little bonus. I see fishing and paddle boating in our future! We will be even closer to Mamaw and Pa (about 1 mile away) and we will be able to walk the girls to both the elementary and the middle school. We put an offer on the house pretty quick, knowing that once it went on the market it would sell quickly. The past 24 hours have been a little stressful, but we came to an agreement tonight and we got a great deal. We close on our current house March 22, and our new house March 23. They are going to let us take possession prior to closing and we will start moving in March 19. March is gonna be a crazy month!
