Smarty Pants!

Chris picked up Ryan from school today and was pulled aside by one of Ryan's teachers. He said that Mrs. Harper wanted to know if we had been working with Ryan on her sight words. He told her we had been. She then went on to tell Chris how impressed she is with Ryan's knowledge of her words and sounds. She said Ryan knows all of her sight words and can sound them out and spell them too.  She is the only one in her class who knows them all! Chris said she was so proud of Ryan. So, of course we are too! I know she is smart, but it sure feels good to have an educator brag about your kid. This news just confirms that although Ryan will be a very young kindergartner and barely be 5 when she starts, she is ready! We have our formal meeting with her teachers in a couple weeks . I can't wait to go over all that she has learned this year! Kindergarten round up is at the end of the month. My baby is about to be in elementary school!   (Chris was so super proud when he called to tell me about the conversation, it was really cute!)
