Polly's Second ER visit

Well, Polly made it to 3 with only one ER visit, but had our second trip soon after her birthday.  Total freak accident, but so, so scary.  We were having a great morning, Chris and I both home, and getting the kids ready for school together. We were out in the drive way and the kids were climbing into the van.  Polly crawled into the floor board below her car seat and was being silly trying to make her sisters laugh.  Ryan, instead of going around to her side and getting in, climbed up into Polly's car seat and was trying to pull herself across when she slipped and fell onto Polly.  All her weight landed on Polly's head, so I knew Polly was going to be hurt and cry.  Ryan kind of froze, like she was shocked she had fallen, so I was awkwardly trying to pull her 55 pound body off of Polly.  When I picked Polly up she was silent so I was waiting for the big cry.  I turned her towards me and all of a sudden her eyes rolled back in her head and she went limp.  Then she became stiff and started having a seizure.  I was screaming and Chris came running out.  He grabbed her and tried to stimulate her.  She was knocked completely out, and posturing and seizing.  It was horrific to watch. I was read to call 911, but after 30 seconds she came to.  She was post-ictal and very out of it. Emma and especially Ryan were bawling. They were both so scared.  It was a terrible thing to witness.  I had screamed at Ryan too, so she felt terrible and guilty. Chris took Polly inside to lay on the couch and I dropped Ryan and Emma, both still crying, at school. I felt terrible dropping them off, but all I could think about was getting Polly to the ER.  When I got back home, 5 minutes later, Polly was laying on the couch very lethargic and pale.  We decided to run her by her pediatricians office (she had a 9:00 well baby appointment already scheduled).  When we walked in the door and told them what had happened they told us to take her to the ER. Thankfully, we have friends that work there since Chris used to and they knew we were headed their way.  The car ride was terrible.  Polly was gagging and dry heaving and trying to fall asleep.  I was so worried and it felt like forever to get there.  We finally arrived, and they immediately triaged us to a trauma room and she was seen immediately by a physician.  He ordered a CT to take sure she didn't have a bleed.  Thankfully, while waiting for the CT she started to perk up and her color came back. I got to go back with her to the CT and she was so brave.  While we waited for the results I called my mom and dad and had them check on Ryan and Emma.  I felt so bad leaving them at school so upset.  My parents ended up pulling the girls out of school for an hour and taking them home to make cards for Polly and eat lunch.  Poor Ryan told my dad later that she thought he was coming to school to tell her that Polly had died.  That broke my heart when I found out.  Thankfully, the CT came back normal and Polly was diagnosed with an "impact seizure" and concussion.  We watched her closely for 24 hours and she has completely returned to her wild and silly self.  We are hoping for NO MORE ER visits!

So scary.
My baby was not acting right.

She got a sticker for being so brave in the CT machine.

All smiles!
