Emma is always on the move and she never sits still. This is great on the soccer field, not so much at home. She loves to climb and jump and use my house as a make shift Ninja Warrior course. She slipped and fell from the top of my door frame after climbing it like a money and landed on her foot funny. Her second toe was curled under and all her body weight fell onto it and hyper-flexed it. She was in a lot of pain and I felt bad for her, but assumed it would be better after a few days. Nope! She could not walk on it at all, unless she walks on the outer edge of her foot and avoids any push off with her toes. I took her to get x-rays and see Dr. Pollifrone. He thought it was a had injury to her second metatarsal joint. So we put her in a boot and didn't let her play in her tournament. That part was brutal!
Right where she hurts |
Her deformed second toe. |
Ice and elevation |
Drinking more milk to increase her calcium. She does whatever Coach Abdol tells her to! |
The boot! |
We came out and supported the team. |
Bless her heart. |
Talking to the ref about her injury. |
Still supporting her team. They lost every game without her. |
