This year we decided to take a different route to Destin and check out New Orleans. We knew it would be a different experience due to COVID, but we thought the girls would still think it was cool. We were right. They loved it. We ate great food, heard some live music and learned some history. It was a quick 24 hours, but it was a great way to break up the long drive.

| Just outside of New Orleans on the highway we completely ran out of gas. Chris realized it and took the next exit (which ended up being the last one for miles). Somehow we were able to coast and hit a green light that allowed us to roll into a gas station. We literally barely rolled up to the pump. We looked at each other in complete disbelief and then we all laughed! Chris swears this happened because he is unable to see my gas gauge in my van. He says the steering wheel blocks it. We got a coffee and said "cheers" and headed to Florida! |
