Emma's First Soccer Tournament

Emma got invited to play in a soccer tournament on the 6 and 7 year old team this weekend!  She is still FOUR! What an honor.  She was so excited and I was so nervous for her.  She was so brave and walked right into her Friday night practice/scrimmage with the older team and hopped right in.  These girls are super good and Emma can learn a lot from them.  Chris and I were so proud of how brave she was.  As an adult I would have been so nervous to play with older, better players.  Not Emma, she just went for it.  Her team ended up winning a lot and made it to the semifinals.  So, we had four soccer games Saturday and she never complained once.  She really enjoyed it.  Coach Jay told her she was a substitute and you would have thought he told her she had won the World Cup! She was so excited to have a title!  She yelled to Mom and I "I'm a substitute!"  It was adorable.  She had no idea what that meant.  She was an excellent substitute and gave it her all the times she was in.  She is very fast and aggressive for her age, but has a lot to learn to become as good as the 6 and 7 year olds.  I was so excited for her to have this opportunity. And, they won the third place trophy and she got a medal! She also got the invite to start practicing with this older team regularly.  We are very proud of her and so glad that she is having fun!
