Little did we know, while attending the USA soccer game, how much our lives were about to change. We had been loosely following the coronavirus that was wreaking havoc on other countries but hadn't thought too hard about it affecting our lives. It did seem to be getting more serious, but it seemed so far away. Until it wasn't. It almost seemed to escalate while we were at the game. NBA starting cancelling games, major events were being cancelled. If we had been supposed to attend the game the following night we probably wouldn't have been able to. It would have been cancelled. The coronavirus had arrived in America and it was much worse than we had thought. We were also far less prepared compared to most nations it had already affected. By the time Sunday evening rolled around (the night before the kids were supposed to return to school after spring break) school was cancelled. We had to shift our plans for the week because both Chris and I still had to go to work. We were able to make it work, thankfully I was able to work a few half days and we only needed help from my parents one day for 6 hours. I hated to have to put them at risk, but we didn't have another option. Here are the pics I took during our first week of a "new normal". Little did we know that this "new normal" was about to change even more a week later.

It wasn't a bad week. With school and sports cancelled our evenings were slowed down and we spent some good quality time together.
