Parent Teacher Conference

This year we got the pleasure of meeting with one of Ryan's teachers, Mrs. Harris, to discuss how Ryan is doing.  I came to the realization last week when registering the girls for preschool next year the 2013-2014 school year will most likely be Ryan's last year of preschool!  What the heck????  How is it that this is true?  That is what I thought when I realized it.  How can kindergarten be that close.......?  Well, after talking with Mrs. Harris it is. Ryan is excelling in all areas of school and Mrs. Harris has no doubt that Ryan will be ready to start kindergarten after next year. She is way beyond her age verbally and has grown tremendously this year socially.  Mrs. Harris told us that she has seen Ryan really mature and make so many friends.  She is very popular among her peers. Mrs. Harris also told us that Ryan took a new classmate under her wing and made her feel comfortable being the new kid at school.  This made my heart happy to hear and we have also heard this from the little girls mom about how much she talks about and adores our Ryan.  Mrs. Harris also told us that Ryan is strong willed!  Ha!  Yes, we know this too well!  Mrs. Harris put a positive spin on it though, and said that she feels Ryan will make a great leader.  I responded that I hope she is leading in the right direction.  :)  Mrs. Harris also told us that Ryan's attention span has increased a lot and that she does well with circle time (that was what she had to go to timeout for at the beginning of the year). She told us that Ryan participates well with all activities and that she loves art the most.  She told us that this year Ryan has been her "special" girl.  We are so grateful for Mrs. Harris.  We love both her and Mrs. Amato, but Mrs. Harris has been a special teacher for Ryan and has made a big difference in her life.

Mrs. Harris reviewed all the areas that they score the kids on at the age of 3.
Ryan was being goofy and counted out of order so she didn't get #4,
but Mrs. Harris said she has heard Ryan count to at least 30 many times
without missing a number and we know that she can do that too.
Glad we got the safety scissors at home!  Ryan is practicing that skill A LOT!
Overall, Mrs. Harris said that Ryan is a joy and that she is so smart.
She also told us that she could tell that we are a very loving family and
that Ryan is so lucky to get to spend so much time with both of her parents.
Only took our girl less than a week to earn this accomplishment!
