First Tournament as a Texan

Emma recently started practicing and playing with the Dallas Texans soccer club.  She has been practicing 3 hours a week with them for the past month and learning a lot and really enjoying it.  Mothers Day weekend she played in her first tournament for the club and did excellent.  She is definitely the best player on the 2011 team and she scored all their goals in the last game to win 5-2. We were very proud of her hustle out there! This summer she will play mostly with her age group (2011) but may play up some too on the 2010 team.  Go Texans!

Our team only had 4 players - some teams had 8-10 players. Our girls had very little rest time, especially Emma.

She had to catch her nap in the car on the way home from Lewisville.

Mother's Day 2017

I had a fantastic Mothers Day weekend! I got to spend a ton of time with my girls and they (along with Chris) spoiled me! I got breakfast in bed, a new swimsuit, new bluetooth ear buds, a case of Topo Chico and seat belt extenders for my fan!
Daddy put up the blow up mattress and we
snuggled and watched a movie Saturday night.

Crazy crew!

Flashback to Mother's Day breakfast in bed in 1985!
I got a ton of nice gifts: Blue tooth ear buds, a new swim suit, a ton of Topo Chico and seat belt extenders for my minivan!  I also got some school made gifts that I will cherish

After an afternoon of soccer and volleyball we stopped by Mamaw and Pa's for the first swim of the year! Even Polly and Mamaw got in.  I did not!

It is really hard to get all 3 girls to smile or even look at the camera at the same time.  See below!

I love being a mom to these girls!

Ryan's Spring Piano Recital

Ryan had her spring recital and she did so well.  All of her hard work paid off. She actually played three pieces this recital: a solo, a duet and an ensemble. She was very proud of herself and it was fun to see her so confident. Mrs. Goodyear told me that Ryan is one of her best students and she wishes she had 34 other students just like her.  :-)

So proud!

She looked so grown up.

America's Season Ends

Emma has had a wonderful experience playing 4 seasons for Coach Dawn at ASA.  We are so thankful for all of the time and energy she gave to these girls.  Emma has learned a lot and is looking forward to playing for the Texans!

Cowboy Chuck Chillaxin'!

This guy has made himself at home!  He is the perfect cat for us.  He is not scared of the dogs at all, tolerates the kids rough play and comes when called.  He spends about 50% of the time outside but comes to the door in the afternoon/evenings when we call for him, just like a dog. He loves to snuggle and prefers to be on me.  He is such a sweet boy and we are so glad that we got him.

Muffins with Mom

Pre-muffin,  dark and early workout complete!

Love these girls so much!  Being their mom is so fun!

Mamaw came too!

She ate her muffin and then asked to hit the "drive thru"
AKA cafeteria line to buy a second breakfast!

Emma was chosen to announce her class before they performed Deep in The Heart of Texas. She did so good and threw in a dab with her "yee-haw"! Hilarious!

Prop 2 WINS!

Chris and many other AFD firemen have been spending a lot of their free time and energy helping the Prop 2 Vote YES campaign the past few months.  And, all of their hard work paid off when the city voted for the proposition that will make AFD civil service!  We are so happy and proud of Chris and all of the AFD men and women that fought for this.  The big girls learned a lot through the process and even helped their dad work the polls on election day.

After we cast our vote
