Ryan's latest family portrait

One of Ryan's latest family portraits.  She has come home with a few this week from kindergarten.  This one actually looked different when she showed it to us.  It only had 3 people, as did all of the others from this week.  We asked her who the 3 people were.  The far left is Ryan, the middle person is me and the far right is Daddy.  There was no Emma in the picture.  This really upset Emma and Ryan sighed and said "alright, give me some crayons and I will add you".  The tiny little yellow person without any hair is Emma.  Poor little Pea Pie. She only makes the picture as a tiny, hairless blob with no clothes or shoes.

Emma's first day in Pre-K 3- Butterfly

This chick was so excited to finally get to start her school.  4 days after Ryan seemed like an eternity for Emma.  She picked out an outfit with butterflies on it since she is in the Butterfly class.  She gladly held her sign I made and took many pictures (she actually carried the sign to school and kept it with her all day).  She walked right into her classroom and barely looked back at us to say bye.  We are so proud of our Sweet Pea! She gets to go to Fielder ECC 3 days a week this year. It is going to be great!

High of 97

Mamaw sent me this picture at work with the caption "Emma is ready for a high of 97".  She loves to wear pants every day and now that we bought her some new winter boots this is her outfit of choice for the hottest days of summer.

Emma is a Butterfly!

Emma got to go up to Fielder and meet her new teachers: Ms. Shannon and Ms. Linda.  Emma is so excited to start school.  When we walked into the classroom she turned and said "let me give you a hug and a kiss goodbye".  Friday, sweet girl.  You are stuck at home with us for two more days!  She will be in the Butterfly class and will be going to Fielder Mon (9-12) and Wednesday/Friday 9-2:30. So excited for her!

First Day of Kindergarten

Ryan started kindergarten and she LOVED it!  We are so proud of her. She was so excited for the first day.  She got a little bit of butterflies the night before (she was saying "I think I'm gonna threwed up"), but she ended up sleeping all night and woke up smiling and excited.  It was so fun to get to walk her to school and she only asked us 25-30 times if we would come back.  We reassured her that yes, we always come back. She had a great day and was smiling at pick up. We are so, so proud of her.
Bedtime the night before Kindergarten!
Breakfast, bright and early at 7:30!

Emma was so excited, she thought she was going too!

It is so fun to get to walk her to school!
Emma brought her own lunch box, with hopes of staying.
My crew.

So proud of my big, brave girl!

Daddy was pretty proud too.

We are thrilled to have Mrs. Hoelscher!
First day of kindergarten celebratory dinner at Grease Monkey with Gran and PawPaw!

Ryan also got a phone call from Aunt Krishia asking her about her first day.  It was really neat.  Aunt Krishia used to call me on the first night of school every year, now she is starting this tradition with Ryan.

Uvula

Ryan's new word that she loves to use. A few weeks ago she asked what the thing was hanging in the back of her throat. We told her what it was and she now talks about her uvula all the time. So funny. For example last night she wanted a drink and she said "I need some water mom, my uvula is very dry and scratchy."

Yoller coaster

What Emma calls a roller coaster.  Makes me laugh every time.
She also calls potato chips -  tomato chips.  :-)

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

I got nominated by a coworker/friend to do the ALS ice bucket challenge.  Emma thought it looked so fun that she wanted to do it too.  She dumped 3 buckets on her head without even being challenged!
I challenged Mamaw and she completed it too.

Meet the teacher

We got to go to a Sneak Peek at Hill Elementary to see Ryan's classroom and find out who her teacher will be.  Chris and I were both hoping it would be Mrs. Hoelscher- and we got her!  We were so excited.  Ryan was a little nervous walking in and she wanted to make sure that we were staying.  She got to pick out her locker and make a name plate for it. We were very impressed with her classroom and excited that she has a few friends in her class.  I cannot believe that I will be sending her off to kindergarten in a few days.  I know she will love it, so I am just taking deep breaths and soaking up these last few days of summer.

Emmaisms

A few of my favorites right now:

"That's gwoss!"
"hold you me?!"- kind of a question and a demanding statement.
"I told my daddy I can....." - when she has been told she cannot do something
"Bumpy ol' trolls"
"Tickle and sunshine" when she wants me to tickle her and sing You Are My Sunshine at bedtime
"Shake, shake, shake your booty"- her signature dance and song

Love this crazy, goofy, girl so much. She makes everyone happy. Pure sunshine to our days!

I found this picture on Chris' phone from Ryan's party.  It is too cute to not have in the blog.  I love all of these kids and their parents.

Ryan's room....

After playing quietly for 3 hours when we got home from the beach.  It was clean when we left for the beach.  She loves her room and her tiny toys.

Galveston Beach Trip 2014

We had another great vacation in Galveston.  Our third summer to go as a family.  The Hackbarts joined us again this year and we had a great week together.  I brought my Cannon camera and didn't take one picture with it.  All of my pictures are from my IPhone, so not the best quality.  I was having too much fun at the beach to get the big camera out.  Here are the pics from my phone of our trip

The computers helped a lot on the drive down!

The were so excited to show their mermaid Barbies
the beach and put their toes in the sand!

The ocean was super calm on our first evening.
Chris and the girls went for a walk on the beach
and he let them play in the water in their clothes!

My favorite pic of the Pea from the trip.

On our way to build a sandcastle empire.

An attempt at a family beach picture- Ry was not interested.

We had a lot of fun with the Hackbart adults.

The Super Moon from our balcony.
Chris was brave and fed the sting rays.
Pea Pie got some tan lines!

Beach race!
Late night game of hearts.

Emma shaking her booty in the rain!

Lilly getting her groove on too!

Watching dolphins from the ferry.

The girls hanging out with Ben, a friendly neighbor.

Cute little bottom.
