First Place for Team Italy

MVP of the season! And Italy went undefeated!
Emma scored the most goals and also prevented the most goals.
She was an all star at all positions. So proud of how hard she worked this season.

Free spirit Emma

I love this kid so much.  She is so funny, laid back and loving.  I have yet to find a person who isn't crazy about Emma.

Driving Miss Polly

The Tharps loaned Polly their push wagon to help her learn to walk.  She loves it!  Except she only wants to go for rides.......She has no problem finding a way to climb into it and she will sit in it and cry out until she gets someone (usually Emma) to push her all over the house!

Polly's first sunburn

Yikes!  Someones mommy did not apply sunscreen during Emma's soccer game!  Sorry PJ!

No training wheels!!!!!

Chris decided to teach the girls to ride their bikes without training wheels.  It is almost summer and we want them riding this summer independently.  So, he took them out to the driveway and went through a complete safety and balance lesson and then they gave it a shot.  Emma had no fear and was riding a bike without training wheels or adult help within 20 minutes.  Ryan didn't quite get the hang of it without a parents help so we will have a follow-up lesson for her.  :-)
It was super fun to watch them learn!
Safety lesson before the took off.
Polly was ripping it on her four wheeler!

The Soobie

So, this happened. I have finally accepted it.  About a month ago Chris traded in his Toyota Tundra for this Subaru.  He is happy with his choice, so I am too (I guess).  I do miss the truck but the Soobie is growing on me.

Our Little Legend

Emma continues to improve in soccer and loves the sport so much.  She recently got placed on the U6 Legends indoor team. She is one of two girls on the team and it is a boys league.  She is getting tougher each game. We are so proud of her!

LASIK

After 30+ years of poor vision I finally decided to get LASIK! I have been wanting to get it donw for years but have always been told to wait until I was done having kids, so I did.  It is amazing!  I cannot believe that I can wake up in the morning and see the time on my alarm clock!  It is a whole new world for me!
In car on way home.  I was a bit loopy Chris said.
I had to sleep in these goggles the first 3 nights.
The girls thought it was hilarious!
Driving (legally) without contacts or glasses!!!!!!
Post LASIK selfies with my girls!
Ryan loves her glasses, so do I!

Martin House

We enjoyed some great weather, good beer and  terrific gumbo benefiting the Tarrant Area Food Bank.  The girls had a great time!

One Year Letters to Polly

My dearest Pollyanna Jane,

Oh my goodness, I love you! You are pure joy and complete a part of my heart that I did not know needed filling. You fill us all up with joy.  Your sisters love you so much and have learned so much from having you in their lives. Your daddy has been the most at ease with you. Adjusting to having you in our lives has been so easy and felt so natural.  Maybe we are getting better as parents, but I think it is also because we all needed you and you have been such an easy, good baby. You just fit right into our life and any thoughts about how we were going to handle 3 kids just vanished when you arrived.  How did we do it without you?  You make us all better.  You complete our family.  Thanks for all of the love and memories that we have created this past year because of you. Please continue to take your time turning into a big girl.  Your mommy needs to soak up all the baby and little girl moments because I know how fast they go and how precious each day is.  I plan to enjoy and love every second with you.  Love you sweet PJ!

Mommy

Polly,

Happy Birthday, I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I first met you. Time has flown by. You have been such blessing to this family. You’re pretty lucky, you know. You have 2 sisters that adore you and love being your big sisters. You have the best mom in the world that loves you so much and will do anything for you. And your dad is pretty cool, too.  I’m so glad you decided to be a part of our family and I look forward to watching you grow into a beautiful girl. Thank you for letting me be your daddy. I love you so much and can’t imagine our family without you.

Love,
Daddy

One Year Old Girl!

that lip!
And just like that, our baby girl is a ONE year old!  I cannot believe it!

ONE YEAR OLD STATS:
Weight: 21.2 pounds (50th%)
Height: 31 inches (95th%)
Hair: coming in light brown and thicker every day
Eyes: still blue
Shoes: have yet to put a pair on her, but she got a pair for her birthday!
Diapers: size 4
Clothes: 12 and 12-18 months
Teeth: still just two on bottom
Eats: whole milk!!!! from a bottle when she wakes, around noon, in the afternoon and at bedtime.
She loves to eat and wants whatever you are having.  She can eat and eat and eat! Because she still only has 2 bottom teeth we have to give her small pieces, but she shovels it in! She drinks prune juice and water from a sippy cup with all her meals.
Sleeps; Still takes 2 solid 2 hour naps a day and sleeps a hard 13 at night!  Love it!

So far Polly has zero interest in walking or talking.  Apparently that is normal for #3- her sisters carry her and talk for her!  If I try to get her to practice walking holding my hands she gets ticked off!  She wants no part of it.  She prefers to be held most of the time, unless she is on the floor playing with her sisters.  She will sometimes push her rocking chair around, but that is it for walking! She still only babbles and it is mostly "da-da" that she says. Pa tried to teach her to hold up a one like he taught Ryan but she hasn't quite gotten it down yet.  She does have a temper and can let us know when she is mad. She is so dang sweet and cute and we love her so much and are in absolutely no hurry for her to grow up!

she bear crawls outside to save her knees!

Donuts and Pajamas for Polly!

We had the best time celebrating our baby turning one!  We had a pajama party with donuts, kolaches, bacon, fruit, coffee,  chocolate milk and mimosas! We collected pajamas and books for the Pajama Program. Polly's family and friends gave so generously and we cannot wait to donate all of the pjs and books to kids in need. We had 65 people attend the party. almost everyone wore pajamas and the weather was great so we could be outside and in.  I still cannot believe my Pollyanna is one.  She is so precious to all of us.  I will do her one year post soon, but here are the pictures from her FIRST birthday. (My last first birthday party to throw!)
