More Soccer

DTS 2011 girls remain undefeated in both leagues they play in!  Kickin' butt and takin' names this season.  We had a full day of soccer and it was B shift so I had the whole crew with me.  Even poor Polly who puked all over my bed at 2 a.m. after a coughing fit came along for the games.
Thankfully, we did not need the pike bowl.

High Maintenance

On nights when Chris is off and puts Polly to bed she
requests a cool baby wipe over her eyes.  He obliges.

Polly's 3 Year Old P.E. Program

I got to watch Polly's Fielder ECC P.E. Program.  She was one of the tallest in her class and very coordinated!

My Helper

"When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news my mother would say to me 'Look for the helpers.  You will always find people who are helping.'" ~Mister Rogers

Emma is a helper.  Her classmate Dru was involved in a terrible accident that has him in a W/C for a few months.  Emma has been so worried about him.  We visited him at home a few times during Spring Break.  When he was ready to return to school Emma told his mom that she wanted to be the one who helps him out of car and into class.  She has been getting up early and we get her to school early so she is ready and waiting for his mom to pull up.  She makes me so proud.

Bearathon 2019

I completed the Bearathon Half Marathon for the third year in a row.  This year was extra special as I got the honor of running with Daniel's number since Alaina was unable to race this year.  It was a tough and hilly race, as usual, but I was able to take another 4 minutes off my time and I felt good during the race.  My hard training paid off.  Chris also ran, and did not die!  He barely trained, so that was impressive.

Alaina pinning #287 on me.

Our crew!

Corey also ran it for the first time.

I got to break the banner!

Love her and honored to run for her and for Daniel.

Back home relaxing with PJ.

COSTA RICA!

This year for Spring Break I knew I wanted to do something with a beach.  We have skied the last 2 spring breaks and I was wanting sand and ocean. A friend at work had mentioned to me that Costa Rica is her favorite beach vacation.  She told me it really felt like you were somewhere different.  Then, a few days later,  I saw a post by a friend with an album of pictures from her family vacation to Costa Rica.  I sent her a message and asked about it and she told me it is the best vacation- even with 2 small children.  So, I brought it up to Chris and he became curious too.  We looked up the house that my friend recommended in Dominical and decided that day we would go.  Without much research or thought we booked flights and our lodging.  We mentioned our plans to Alaina and Kylie and they were intrigued.  They asked us if they could join us for a few days and of course we said yes!  Chris did most of the leg work as far as researching the area and we ended up renting a car.  It was a long travel day with 2 flights and a 3 hour drive, but boy was it worth it when the sun rose the nest day.  We were in absolute paradise.
We filled our week with lots of adventures: zip lining, hiking and waterfalls, animal sanctuary, lots of pool and beach time, eating fantastic food and lots of fun and laughs with each other.
I took a lot of pictures and tried to narrow them down but I will include a lot below.
This was our favorite country to visit- hands down, and one of our favorite family vacations.  We LOVE Costa Rica and plan to come back ASAP!
Ready for take off
6 a.m. flight!

No one threw up!
Only one mishap- we forgot Polly's bag at TSA in DFW.
