Polly's First Day of Preschool

Here she is with her own sign and very excited for her first day (she totally thought I was coming along.) She picked out a "pretty dress" with Mamaw and I came home from work to be able to drop her off.  (Have I mentioned how awesome my boss Corey is?!?!) She repeated "mommy play" the whole way there, and I could tell she got nervous when we were walking in and she said "hold you" so I would carry her in.  When we got to her classroom she lost it and tried to get a death grip on my scrubs.I pulled her of me and handed her over.  It was sad, but I have done this a time or two before so I knew she would do better if I left quickly. I got a bunch of texts throughout the day of her having fun and taking a great nap!  When I showed up to pick her up she didn't see me at first and I watched her giggling and doing ring around the rosy. She spotted me and immediately started crying! Nice try, sweet girl.  You can't fool me.  I have photographic evidence that you had a great day! I am very proud of her, and a little sad that Chris missed this big day for Polly!

Here are some pictures that the teachers text to me:

Sweetest little girl in the whole wide world!
I know she was happy to get her paci for nap time!

Missing Daddy

Emma made this for Chris at school.  He was in Corpus/Rockport area and now he is in Houston helping rescue the thousands of people who are affected by the flooding from Hurricane Harvey. The girls and I really miss him but are so proud of him.

I Love My Co-workers!

Alaina came to town for a visit so we planned a fun happy hour and dinner to all get together. At the time we did not know that Chris would be deployed, but I had a babysitter lined up so I took advantage of the break and went.  We had a lot of fun playing games at America Gardens.

Polly's First Fielder Meet The Teacher

Thursday evening I attended the Parent Orientation for Polly's preschool at Fielder.  Earlier in the day Chris had gotten deployed to Corpus Christi for Hurricane Harvey, so he did not get to go.  I found out at the orientation that Polly will be in the Little Lamb class!   Both Ryan and Emma were Little Lambs when they were two years old at Fielder.  Ryan and Emma both had Ms. Nelda and Ms. Erica.  This time Polly will have new teachers: Ms. Aubrey and Ms. Haley.  I got to meet them and learn about their classroom Thursday night, and Friday morning I got to swing by with Polly so she could meet them and see the classroom.  Mamaw came with us. She was pretty timid and literally kept her hand on me the entire time.  She wanted to make sure that I did not leave (kind of like she does at bedtime now in the big bed when I lay with her....sigh).  She did like the area with the baby dolls and the kitchen.  She LOVED the slide and the playscape.  I am excited (and nervous) for her and for me.  She starts preschool next week.  She will go two days a week. I know she will make sweet friends and learn a lot! It sure is hard to believe that my last baby is starting preschool already!

Bye Bye Crib

Polly decided to start climbing out of her crib.  We got it all on video and she does it with ease.  So, we are putting her to bed in the twin bed.  So far it has not been the easiest transition.  Looks like we will be flipping the locks in her room.........
She would rather watch TV on the couch with Daddy

Eventually she does fall asleep in the bed.

Destin 2017

We had another excellent week in Destin with some of our best friends. This year Polly LOVED the beach, unlike last year.  We did a few more activities, like rented a pontoon boat and went to Crab Island, and Emma parasailed!  (I have pictures of that but I have to load them on the computer so I will in a seperate post.) For the first time ever we made the entire drive back in one day (thank you, new DVD system in the van!). We had a great time and made some more great memories.  I took a ton of pictures, so here they are!

Enjoying our new DVD system that I had put in the day before we left!
(I panicked about the long drive!)

Relaxing in Vicksburg at our 1/2 way overnight stop

Happy to be out of the car!

Emma loves the beach!

Happy to be with her buddies

Ryan with her toes in the sand!
She gets tired of the beach the quickest.

Polly was in awe at first.
Last year she hated the beach, this year she loved it!

Emma spent 90% of her time on a boogie board!

Polly and Griffin had  alt of fun together this year.
