Emma's first day as a Catepillar

She was so excited to finally get to start her school!  It was bittersweet for me.  It was her last first day at Fielder.

When Emma is mad at Ryan.....

.....she goes around the house and turns all of the pictures of Ryan backwards so she doesn't have to see them!

Pollyanna O'Neil Adams
***Aunt Tris gave me some details on this picture.  Both of my great grandfathers are in it, along with Pollyanna.  The man sitting on the fence labeled "Mr. Hughes" is Claude Adams (my moms paternal grandfather) and Pollyanna's father is next to her on the right, my mom's beloved Papa.  This picture was taken at a Mill Iron bull sale in Memphis. The most interesting thing about this picture is that Pollyanna had not met her future husband yet, but she is pictured here with her father and her future father-in-law.

Emma Bathes Polly!

Emma gave Polly a sink bath all by herself.  She was so proud.  Emma loves PJ so much and does such a good job helping me take care of her.
I am so glad that Ryan and Emma are 4.5 and 6, they will remember all of this! They will also be wonderful mommas!

Nursing on the go!

While Ryan was at her first day of first grade Emma and I ran our errands.  We had a lot to do so Emma didn't waste any time, she nursed her baby Polly on the go.  We had one minor incident.  Her Polly was accidentally dropped while crossing the street and she was run over by the cart.  We rushed home for bandaids and she seems to be just fine.

First day of FIRST grade!

And just like that I have a first grader! Ryan was so excited to start school.  We got home from the beach the evening before the first day.  Thanks to Mamaw and Pa (who went to her meet the teacher while we were gone) we knew that Ryan's teacher would be Mrs. Griffin and where she would sit.  She was not nervous at all.  This is the first school year that Ryan has been 100% confident.  We are so proud of her.

Ryan made a sweet friend who helped her with her locker.
She looks so old here. I can't believe she is 6 and in first grade.

Grandpa got her a seat on the front row. (Good for bad eyes!)

Destin

We decided to be brave and take on the 11 hour drive to a pretty beach this summer.  The Tharps invited us to join them in Destin, Florida. We planned the trip while I was pregnant and praying for an easy going baby to make the drive bearable.  Well, that is just what I got- Polly is a trooper on road trips!  She hardly made a peep! We broke the drive in half and got up at 3 a.m. and drove to Vicksburg, Mississippi and spent the day swimming and relaxing.  We went to bed early and then got up in the middle of the night to drive the last leg to the beach.  We arrived in Rosemary Beach early Saturday morning and met the Crowley family for breakfast at the Donut Hole.  Then, we spent some time at their beach house and got to checkout Rosemary Beach with them.  Then, we headed  to our beach house at Miramar Beach.  The Tharps arrived and we started our week together at the beach!  We had an awesome house right on the beach and had so much fun playing in the awesome sand and clear turquoise waters.  We crab hunted, flew kites, cooked and ate lots of yummy meals, played lots of Beersbee and sand volleyball, napped on the beach, read lots of books, boogie boarded, built sandcastles and mermaid tails, ate ice cream, played board games, enjoyed each other laughed a lot and made priceless memories!  I took quite a few pictures of our wonderful vacation!
Swimming at the hotel pool in Vicksburg.
Half of the drive to Destin over with.

I woke up at 3 a.m. and stayed awake, she did not!
