Apex Fun Run

The big girls school does an Apex Fun Run Fundraiser and even though we don't participate in the fundraising part my girls still get into the run!  Emma broke the school record with 64 laps (it was 53!).  I got to swing by on my way home from work early to catch a glimpse of Ryan running her laps. She also did great and ran more laps this year than she did last year. And it was hot! I got a few action shots of Ryan running.  Proud of them both.  Good thing we didn't sponsor them- we would be broke!

Polly Scores a GOAL!

She scored her first goal!
Even though her team lost- they played a team a year older,
Polly said "we won-ded!" since SHE scored!

Road to Recovery

Her foot still bothers her and she can't do all of practice
without pain. Back to ortho for another look.

Cutie
Waiting to see a foot specialist.

Waiting to see Dr. Stewart.

Toe is still wonky
She is performing at about 90%.
Her team remains undefeated in both leagues, thanks to her!

Sunday Soccer and Wings Game

Emma played in her game!
Sis is slowly but surely healing and looking like herself again
on the field!

Court side while the WIngs warm up.

Breakfast on Demand

Polly requested breakfast in bed.  She even requested a card!
Her Daddy obliged.
(I made her eat on floor next to the bed)

Polly's First Soccer Practice

She wanted to look just like Emma, pre-wrap and top knot!

Loved it!

Emma was so excited for her!

My Girl

My beautiful pre-teen girl.

Emma Injured

Emma is always on the move and she never sits still.  This is great on the soccer field, not so much at home.  She loves to climb and jump and use my house as a make shift Ninja Warrior course.  She slipped and fell from the top of my door frame after climbing it like a money and landed on her foot funny. Her second toe was curled under and all her body weight fell onto it and hyper-flexed it.  She was in a lot of pain and I felt bad for her, but assumed it would be better after a few days.  Nope! She could not walk on it at all, unless she walks on the outer edge of her foot and avoids any push off with her toes.  I took her to get x-rays and see Dr. Pollifrone.  He thought it was a had injury to her second metatarsal joint.  So we put her in a boot and didn't let her play in her tournament.  That part was brutal!
Right where she hurts

Her deformed second toe.

Ice and elevation

Drinking more milk to increase her calcium.
She does whatever Coach Abdol tells her to!

The boot!

We came out and supported the team.

Bless her heart.

Talking to the ref about her injury.

Still supporting her team.
They lost every game without her.
