Thanksgiving 2019

We had a great Thanksgiving with family. Mom hosted and we ate, played games, relaxed and watched football.

Maggie and I did a Turkey Trot around the hood.

Cheers!

League Challenge Cup Champions!

Back to back tournaments and back to back championships!!!! Emma killed it again! She played the entire 5 games without a sub and she played fantastic soccer! We only had 8 girls for a 7v7 tournament and they did it!!!  I am in complete awe of these athletes!  This tournament was a Premier SuperCopa qualifier.  You had to win the tournament to be invited and they did it!  We are going to Cincinnati in June for one of the most prestigious youth soccer tournaments.  These girls and their coach earned it!

After their first win of the day!

We went and saw Frozen 2 while waiting for second game.

Turkey Trot 2019

Emma really wanted to beat Angel in the Turkey Trot.  We had no doubt that she would be the fastest girl in her grade, but we knew Angel would give her a run for her money!  He is very fast.  In second grade he beat her by one second.  He finished at 8:19 and Emma finished at 8:20!  It was a great race.  Emma had played in a VERY physical tournament two days before the race so I wasn't sure she would be able to run, but she was determined.  She was nervous before the race, but told us her goal was to run the whole mile without stopping.  She did just that and finished at 7:07- Angel finished one second ahead of her at 7:06!!!  She almost had him.  He took the inner lane on the curve and she didn't have enough time to pull ahead.  Poor Angel threw up right after they finished (Emma did not!) so I don't think he had much left in his tank.  I can't believe how fast they are at 8 years old!!! SO proud of my fast and athletic girl!
I left work to come cheer for her!

Nervous at the start.

She let him take off in front of her and she paced right behind
him the entire race until the last 200 meters when she turned it up.

Fastest girl in 3rd grade again!

Mamaw and Pa came to cheer!

Emma and Angel!

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
She beat a lot of the older kids too!

Veteran's Heroes Cup Champions!

Emma played incredible soccer and her team remains undefeated and won the Heroes Cup!  I was so proud of her grit and determination.  She gave it her all and carried her team.  She never got subbed and was taken down hard a few times but always got back up. She is so fun to watch and this team is getting GOOD!

Manager and Coach picture!
We make a good team!

Emma's body was black and blue!
