Tough Mudder Disaster!

A group of CG friends decided to sign up for the Tough Mudder.  I had a blast doing this race last year and I thought it would be fun to do it again.  Unfortunately it was a rainy week and started raining on the morning of.  We made it out to Midlothian and it was a muddy disaster.  SO much muddier than the year before.  People were slipping and falling just walking up to the registration. Our shoes were covered in mud and it was like walking on slippery ice.  It was also freezing.  It took us over an hour to get started and then 30 min just to make it to the first obstacle.  I saw so many people fall and get hurt that I decided it wasn't worth it and I actually left the race!  I have never in my life started a race that I did not finish, until this one. The good part of it was I made it to Emma's cheering debut and the whole race ended up being cancelled soon after I left due to injuries.  I got out of there in the nick of time, my other friends were stuck out there for hours trying to get their free t-shirt and a shuttle back to the car. FOr once I went with my gut and it was definitely the right choice!
Dom and I were so excited for the race!

My CG friends at the start.

TM Quitter!
I made sure to get my t-shirt and free beer though!

Made it in time to see this cutie pie cheer!

Big Red

Chris decided he wanted to have a truck again and after A LOT of convincing I agreed we could get a truck.  I had wanted to trade in the Subaru for a truck, but Chris really wanted to keep it and thought we should just get a third vehicle.  So, here we are!
See how happy I am.
It will be nice to have a truck to use again.

Raging River Canal!

We have had a crazy amount of rain this month and the ground cannot hold any more!  The canal has overflowed more than once and we have lost patio furniture and almost our boat!  Here are a few pictures of our view out back after 30 minutes of hard rain.

Polly Face Plants

Polly goes to CG with Chris on the mornings she is home from school and she always does great and plays with her toys while he works out.  Sometimes she will join him on the run or shuffle part.  Today, she attempted to shuffle alongside him and she got tripped up and landed on her little face!
Bruiser!

She chipped her tooth1

Cast OFF!

After 4 weeks Emma finally got to get her nasty cast off!  She was so excited and a little scared of the saw.  The x-ray looked good but we decided to but her in a brace for the first 2 weeks since she is such an active kid.

She wanted to keep it!

SOOOO GROSS!

Her new brace.

She scored 2 goals in the 9v9 game with the
2010 team the same day she got her cast off!

That is all sweat!

Emma Starts Cheer!

Emma begged to be a cheerleader this year and I gave in.  I talked to Marissa's mom and we started a second grade team.  Emma can't wait to cheer for Owen this season!
Ready for the pep rally!

No More Paci's for PJ!

As we approach Polly's 1/2 point between 3 and 4 I finally decided it was time to say goodbye to the pacifier for good.  I have been talking about it for awhile.  Ryan gave hers up at 3 and Emma lost hers around 2.5, so Polly definitely has had hers the longest.  She goes to school without it and naps without it at school without a problem, it is just at home that we have been weak.  I am not going to lie, I love the pacifier too.  It is such a comfort for her and that in turn helps me. But, I also know that she is ready to give it up, she just needs our help!  So, one random morning while the big girls were at school I talked to Polly about cutting up her paci's so she could be a big girl. To my surprise (and Chris') she wanted to cut them.  So, I cut the first one and she cried a little and then suddenly she decided she wanted to cut them all, and she wanted to do it herself!  Chris was in disbelief that this was happening, I was a little too. But we did it!  We cur all of them except one of the rubber infant pacifiers that she likes to hold at bedtime.  We let her keep that for two nights, but she started sucking on it, so we cut it too. She is officially paci free 100% now and doing great.  We had 2 rough nights and then she forgot about it.  Every now and then she will ask for a paci but then she laughs!
When I cut the first one, her favorite!
She kind of freaked, and so did Chris.
He said "why did you do her favorite one?"

"I can do it!"

First nap with just one paci to "hold"

Love seeing that smile without a paci in the way!

Big girl cutting the very last paci!

BOSHA night at Levitt

Fun times at the Levitt, especially when it includes free food, free booze and reserved seating. Thanks, BOSHA!

Champions Challenge

Chris and I were asked to participate in the Advocare Champions Challenge Mud Run.  It was an 18 obstacle race and we were on the AFD team.  It was a lot of fun, but so hot!

Team picture before the race.

Dom came out to cheer and ended up doing the course with us.

Waiting to get this race started.

Starting line, finally starting the race!

SO glad to be done!

All finished.  It was so hot but we did it!

We got 3rd place!
