Letters to Emma Reese at THREE years

Emma at 1 month

Emma at almost 3 years

My sweetest Pea,
I cannot even begin to explain how much I love you.  You take up a very special place in my heart and are an irreplaceable part of our family. You make everyone smile and are such a fun and easy kid. Your little speech impediments are the cutest things I have ever heard.  I know you will outgrow them, and I will miss them so much. A few of the things that I love about you right now are: your love of being tickled, when you say "hold you me" when you want me to hold you, your outgoing and spunky personality, your fearlessness, the adoration you have for your big sister, when you ask "where's my Daddy" when you wake up on C shifts, your kisses on the lips and your new willingness to give them,  when you say "I have cwaaaay-zy hair", your love and talent for puzzles, your long and thin legs, your fondness for your 'wizards' (fishing worms), the check ups you give me with your Doc McStuffins medicine kit (even though I am always sick enough to warrant a shot), how you still strip down in the backyard like you did when you were potty training, the way you are so gentle and loving with Ivy, how you are still a momma's girl.......You are so fun and so unique.  I have never met a kid like you before and I am so glad that you are ours.  You are one cool kid- that is what your dad always says about you.  I couldn't agree more.  Love you to the moon and back, sweet girl.

XOXO,
Mommy

Dear Emma,

Happy Birthday to my big 3 y/o. You are such a blessing and I am so proud to be your dad. You are the sweetest girl in the world. Watching you grow up and mature has been so fun. I love you very much and cherish every moment we're together.
